March on Tavistock- July 2004

From the 1069 entry of the Anglo Saxon Chronicle- "...Harold's sons (came) from Ireland, about midsummer, with sixty-four ships into the mouth of the Taft, where they unwarily landed: and Earl Breon came unawares against them with a large army, and fought with them, and slew there all the best men that were in the fleet; and the others, being small forces, escaped to the ships: and Harold's sons went back to Ireland again."

July 9, 10, 11 Nordhere put on our first public event, a reenactment/living history display in conjunction with the Dal Radia Highland Games in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan. Portraying Earl Breon and his personal troops, we spent the weekend fighting, training, camping and cooking.

This past year was spent working on personal kit, this winter will hopefully be devoted to developing camp items to help round out the portrayal. Yes, this will be an annual event- see you next year!
